Willingen - charming ski resort in Hochsauerland

Willingen is a well known winter sport place in west Hesse. It gained popularity by the „Muhlenkopf“-jump on which world cup ski jumping matches take place each year. 
The picturesque, close to nature location in the Rothaar Mountains, which is part of the Waldeck upland, draws many visitors during the entire year.

Guests of the town will find accommodations in many hotels or pensions directly in Willingen, as well as in the neighboring resort Usseln.
A vacation in Willingen is usually formed by activities in the beautiful nature of the surrounding area. Hiking and bike paths, like the “Willingen Bike World”, will please strollers as well as experts.

The Uplandsstieg belongs to the newer German hiking routes. It is 64 kilometers long and leads through the mountain landscape of the upland. The trend sport Nordic Walking is accounted for on the four routes in the „Nordic Active Center“. If the weather is not too good, the lagoon water park or the ice rink are popular meeting points.

You will have great family experiences in the milk museum in Usseln, at the wild park with a connected dinosaur and fairy tale forest and during a visit to the show mine „Willingen Underground“ in which you can also go cave diving. 

As a well known winter sport place, Willingen has associated itself in the „Sauerland Winter Sport Arena“, an easy to reach – situated in the north – skiing paradise with 150 lifts, 300 kilometers of cross-country skiing runs and 28 hectares of ski slopes, open as of November.
