Washington State lies in the outermost northwest of the USA, directly on the border to Canada, and was named after the American President George Washington. This State, which is half covered by forests and mountains, has a population of more than 6.4 million.

The “Emerald City” Seattle is the largest city and an economic and cultural center directly on the North Pacific coast, and with that an important port of call for ships from all over the world and also a center for aeronautical and space engineering.

The modern city is a starting point for tours along the wild and craggy coast with picturesque towns in which small hotels and vacation houses invite you to relax.

Washington State enchants its visitors with its primal wilderness, which can be hiked through, with old glaciers and volcanoes and with the friendliness of its inhabitants who you can meet during a beer or wine tasting at the vineyards. Golf fans have the choice of 350 well kept golf courses. 

Washington’s three large national parks, “North Cascade”, “Olympic” and “Mount Rainier” (with the 4330 meter high volcano Mount Rainier) parks, all offer many natural camping grounds, motels or also exclusive lodges nearby for a short or long stay. A city tour could take you from Seattle via Tacoma on Commencement Bay to the small capital of the State, Olympia.
