Green idyllic place in Brandenburg: Holiday village Wandlitz

The charme of Eastern Germany within a end moraine scenery: The municipality Wandlitz in the county of Brandenburg is located amidst a mixed forest and many lakes, approx. 30 km Northern of Berlin. The quarter Wandlitz with nowadays 5,000 inhabitants has become famous in the time of the Federal republic of Germany due to ist „Waldsiedlung“.

The leaders of the unified socialist party (SED) like Walter Uilbricht or Erich Honecker have lived here between Bernau und Wandlitz .- heavily and military guarded and separated from the civilian people of Eastern Germany. Nowadays this site has a new function and is the Brandenburg Klinik (a hospital) .
The museum of farming which houses the largest historical collection in respect of farming and agriculture of the county Brandenburg .awaits your visit for leisure and cultural activities.

 In the neighboring tiny villages a visit of the international museum (Klosterfelde) of artists and the „Heidekrautmuseum“ (Basdorf)  is well worth the visit. The Wandlitz lake is attracting the adults and the little ones where you can romp about in an open-air bath of more than 4,000 square meters.
