Taking a Holiday in Viet Nam

Although many people may not think it at first, taking a holiday in Viet Nam can be a lot of fun. Even though the area is most well known for its association with war, there are tons of other events and activities that you can take part in as well. After all, Viet Nam is a truly incredible and beautiful country, one that offers contrast and culture like no other.

One area in Viet Nam in particular that you will want to check out on your holiday in Viet Nam is the Cu Chi Tunnels, which are open from 9:00am-5:00pm daily and which were used by the Viet Cong in the war against the United States. These tunnels were literally supply routes, kitchens, hospitals and training facilities, and you can crawl down into the tunnels if you want or try out an AK47 rifle if guns are more your thing.

The Temple of Literature is another great place to check out on any holiday in Viet Nam, and it was founded in the year 1070 by King Ly Thanh Tong, who founded it to pay tribute to education and those of high academic achievement. Really the only of its kind in all of Viet Nam, the temple is often visited by art students from around the world, and stone stelae record the names of successful doctorates of the past at this quiet retreat into Vietnamese educational history.

Remember
Although Viet Nam can be a really wonderful place to travel to, whenever you travel anywhere this foreign, you want to make sure that you speak to your doctor first and find out if any vaccines are recommended beforehand.
