Venice, Veneto – A city which takes away the breath of everyone

There is probably no other Italian city which is as famous in the world as Venice. This lagoon metropolis accommodates more than 250,000 people and is the capital of the region Veneto and the province Venice. Thanks to its popularity many holiday apartments, flats and hotels of the most different categories, price ranges and positions are found in this town.

In a lagoon of the Adriatic Venice extends by more than 117 small islands which are connected by more than 400 bridges with each other. Up to 1797 the town was an independent republic with big historical meaning for one millennium. From then the former small state belonged to Austria even till 1805.

 

However, the history still held ready some other things for Venice. Today, year after year thousands of visitors come to the town and can be enchanted by its unique architecture and the quite special attitude to life of the inhabitants.

In Venice, main traffic routes are not streets, but canals. By about 175 canals of the town which show a total length of about 38 kilometres the “Canale Grande” is the biggest and most important. A visit of Venice holds ready many places of interest like churches, places, museums, theatres, art and sculptures.

With a flat or a hotel in Venice you have enough time to get to know this breathtaking town with all its nice sides.
