Magic moments of the culture of Trier

The city Trier in the Eifel calls for the title „oldest town of Germany“  – according to this the  treasure of places of interest of nearly 2000 years of history is very large. If you book a cosy hotel, a comfortable flat or a cosy holiday apartment at the friendly renters of the town, you have the guarantee of a vacation without the word boredom. A trip to the Roman's time is a must of you spend your vacation in the former "Augusta Treverorum".

The rests of the Kaisertherme, the amphitheatre, a huge number of Roman graves and of course the Porta Nigra are contemporary witnesses of the Roman history of the town. Annually there are events referring to this subject, as well as, for example, "panem et circenses" – „bread and games“ in the re-enactment of the gladiatorial fights of the Roman culture true-to-detail.

Of the other epochs which the old but nevertheless not dusty town has seen also numerous places of interest are being obtained. If you leave your pension, your summer cottage or your hotel in Trier, the inspections of the cathedral Trier Dom, the Liebfrauenkirche and other sacred constructions are recommended.

Also the Dreikönigenhaus, numerous castles and parks are worth an excursion. Beside the State Museum some other museums open the gates for the historical lovers. You can also pay attention to the choirs of the town in some concerts – as an example the Trier Sängerknaben are listed here.
