Tossa de Mar – holiday in Catalan

With the place Tossa de Mar it concerns around a very popular Catalan seaside resort. It is located in the extreme north-east of the Iberian Peninsula at the Costa Brava and also situated approximately concentric between the city Barcelona and the frontier to France.

Tossa de Mar has to owe not only its predicate as a health resort because you can find enough elegant holiday apartments and hotels. The town is situated in a dreamlike bay, lurked between rock cliffs sloping to the Mediterranean Sea. Three sandy beaches, a charming water front and a historical Old Town with a fortress form the picture of the place. Precipitous lanes, numerous cafés and restaurants, a promenade and a small harbour where exciting excursions can be started, create the town as very charming.

Tossa de Mar also was known by the films "Pandora" and ,,The flying Dutchman" which were released in the pretty municipality. Then the popularity of Tossa de Mar increased which also reflected, among the rest, in the visitor`s figures of the hotels, flats and summer cottages.

By a hired car or motorcycle, the bicycle or also by foot, you can tackle the beginning panorama street of Tossa de Mar. With a length of 13 kilometres it winds through a cleft rock scenery in the direction of north-east to Sant Feliu de Guixols.
