Tuscany - a treat for your senses

TuscanyHoliday home in Tuscany

Tuscany - home of Chianti, which is of itself enough to attract many a wine connoisseur to this region of Italy. Others prefer the beauty of the region as a reason for traveling to Tuscany - its vineyards, olive groves, oak and chestnut forests.

Feel yourself transported to the Middle Ages in the old city of Siena at the Santa Maria cathedral or the Palazzo Publico. Florence in turn still shows the traces of Leonardo da Vinci′s, Michelangelo′s, and Galileo′s work. And of course, there is the sea in Tuscany, for example on the Etruscan Riviera and the coast of Maremma. Who can withstand so many attractions? Certainly nobody for very long.

Hotels in Tuscany

Tuscany is a treat for all your senses - try bruschetta, a mixture of tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, and basil on toasted white bread, drink one of the excellent wines with it and pamper your palate. Take a walk through the countryside - the scent of lavender and wild herbs will waft to your nose; a soft breeze will stroke your skin. Often only a few, but intense sounds will reach your ears - birds singing or the sound of the sea. Your eyes will probably take in most - the view of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the gentle waves or the thickly wooded hills in Grosseto. If you want a holiday at the sea, note the towns of Viaregio, San Vincenzo, and Follonica.

Vacation rentals Tuscany - The water at the beaches of Follonica is shallow and only gradually deepens, making this place quite popular with families with small children. Not far away lies the island of Elba, awaiting your visit. Hikers and skiers prefer the area around Monte Amiata, where eagles fill the sky, and chestnut, fir, beech, and oaks form thick forests. Picturesque country churches and palaces dot the countryside north of Florence. In Tuscany you will often be amazed at how well architecture can fit into the landscape. For example the small city of San Gimignano in the province of Siena, which has been designated a World Heritage Site. Here you will see the Manhattan of the Middle Ages, as the dynastic towers of the town are called. These towers were built as status symbols for patrician families. Many tourists are also attracted to Florence, where the Medicis and other families left excellent architecture. Give all your senses a fascinating treat - welcome to Tuscany.

Accommodations
Modern villas, ancient estates, former farmhouses - all of these are holiday homes today. In Tuscany it′s possible to opt for the charm of homes from centuries past without having to do without the comforts of modern times.

Perhaps you would like to travel with another family and you want two adjacent homes with pool, fireplace, and timbered ceilings? Holiday homes in Tuscany often combine traditional architecture with modern amenities. But of course there are also newer buildings in all parts of Tuscany, at the seaside, in the interior, near Florence - sometimes having such a large selection is not so easy - Vacation rentals with pool in Tuscany.
