Tias, stronghold of tourism

Tias, one of the seven communities on Lanzarote, is propably known due to its largest town Puerto del Carmen. Puerto del Carmen is the main holiday destination of the most tourists in Lanzarote. In Puerto del Carmen one can find a vast number of very beautiful hotels, pensions and ample resorts with many vacation flats. In Puerto del Carmen there is a vibrating night-life, as the many restaurants and bars easily make obvious.

Therefore this place is not only the right place for sunbathers who enjoy relaxation and recreation during the day at the fine sand beaches but also for those who want to go dancing in the night and want to have fun.

The community of Tias is located in the southeastern part of Lanzarote and is known for its wine growing area. Due to the fact that the conditions are not very ideal the local people have come up with a special way of growing wine. The grape-vine grow in excavated burrows, which protect them against the ongoing blowing winds and are able to fully savour the sunlight. Results are the most delicious wines which one should taste in any case. A winetasting is part of many tours on the island of Lanzarote.

In Puerto del Carmen you find not only the largest offer of hotels and vacation flats on the whole island but also wide beaches, which extend through many kilometers. Not only sunbathers but also people loving sports have fun here. The sports programs includes windsurfing, fishing until diving. Even Boat trips to the lagoons are widely offered.

Who wants to make his holiday due to the high-nightlife on Lanzarote (Spain)  should be there in the summer months. In Winter there is slightly less nightly activity due to the fact that many seniors overwinter on the island of Lanzarote.
