Originally the building of the today's "Schlosshotel Herrenchiemsee" was built between 1737 and 1740 under Dompropst Floridus Rappel from Ettenhausen as a seminar building for the cathedral endowment "Herrenchiemsee". And already 1909 the family Huber from Prien took over the hotel as a tenant - today the Hubers operates the restaurant and the hotel in the third generation.
