Smaland - le magnifique sud de la Suède

The southern province of Smaland belongs to Sweden’s historical regions and is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from the entire European continent.

Those spending their holidays in one of the small, quiet holiday homes or hotels in Sweden’s magical south are never far away from the next waters since the wide lake and wood landscapes extend across the whole province – to the eastern Baltic coast with its many bays, where the elongated island of Öland lies.
You can best explore the beautiful province of Smaland by bike, by canoe or on foot.

A journey along the historic road R1, the "Riksettan”, leads past traditional small villages and shows Sweden’s great landscapes.

Two of the most popular regions of the south are the so-called “glass empire” near Växjö and the small town Vimmerby, which houses the country’s most famous children’s paradise, the “Astrid Lindgren Park”. In the historic “glass empire”, the art of blowing and grinding glass has lingered on in numerous workshops since the 18th century. During their holidays, even tourists on their journey through Sweden will find a large amount of nice accommodation in family-run hotels and private holiday homes or holiday flats.

Some of the most beautiful and hospitable towns of Smaland are, amongst others, Jonköping, Ljungby and Hultsfred. They are always worth a visit.
