An Andalusian summer in Sitges

36 kilometres away from Barcelona you find a marvellous coastal small town at the Costa del Garraf. You should absolutely spend a holiday in this town, surround by beach, mountains and Spanish atmosphere. The mountains of the Garraf surround this nice town and provide for a Mediterranean climate – in Sitges there are no deficit degrees.

Starting point for numerous enterprises is – down to your whim – a hotel, a holiday apartment or a flat in the town. From there you can walk the whole length of the place through the boardwalk, sitting under palms in the shade and watch the coloured activity of the town or reach to the golf course at the end of the town.

The shallow beaches with the white sand and the clean water offer the sunbathers enough possibilities for bathing. While a ramble through the narrow lanes of Sitges you find numerous shops, bars and pubs for the evening creation.

The architecture of the town offers an interesting mixture of buildings of the Art Nouveau, villas of the 20th century and modern constructions. Worth seeing is the church of the holy Bartholomäus and holy Thekla which is built on a rock on the beach.

Enjoy a dreamlike vacation at a hotel, a pension or a summer cottage at the Spanish coast – and visit maybe even the spirited city festival in Sitges which is hold in honour of the holy Thekla every year on the 23rd of September.
