Picturesque villages, mountains and plains, the traces of Luther, Nietzsche and Handel, wonderful hospitality, beautiful nature and culturally historic places, all this is Saxony-Anhalt.

Hanesatic cities such as Tangermuende and Salzwedel decorate this area of the Altmark formed by heath land and woods. Parts of the Harz land invite you to a visit, just as the hilly Burgenland. It will take a while to really get to know all of this: so make sure you take your time.

When traveling through Saxony-Anhalt you will always hear one name: Martin Luther. Martin Luther lived and worked in Wittenberg, also known as the Cradle of the Reformation, for over 40 years. Here you will find, amongst other things, the Luther House and the castle church, on the doors of which the reformer posted his thesis in 1517.

A revolution in architecture and design also had an important station in Saxony-Anhalt: the Bauhaus, dedicated entirely to simplicity. People like Walter Gropius and Mies van der Rohe developed the Bauhaus in Dessau to a successful fusion of handicraft and art. The castles and fortresses of the region are far more decorative objects: for example the famous Baroque castle Hundiburg.

It was first documented in 1140. Maybe your vacation home will be near to the Neuenburg, built in 1090, in Freyburg, an old vintner town or near the Oranienbaum castle or the Bernburg castle, the „Crown of Anhalt“. In any case, you will discover a world of brilliance and fascination.
