Dream vacation travel in Sassnitz on Rügen

„Travelling to Rügen means to travel to Sassnitz.“ These words of the author Theodor Fontane already describe, actually the worthwile holiday destination of the former fishing village with an old resort tradition in the north-east of the island Rügen. The town on the peninsula Jasmund offers not only nice nature, but also unique architecture and culture for the holiday guest who book the hotel, the flat or the holiday apartment.

The restructured historical city centre, as well as the environs, offer wonderful houses in the style of the seaside-resort architecture and invite to diverting walks. A visit on the beach and an inspection of the seafront in Sassnitz promise healthy sea air and not only a nice day on the Baltic beach.

It is indispensable to leave the hotel, summer cottage or the pension in Sassnitz to visit the local animal park, or to undertake a wandering through the marvellous national park Jasmund. In this park Caspar David Friedrich painted his picture with chalk rock on Rugen “Kreidefelsen auf Rügen” – and also the tourist does not get around  admiring the marvellous sight, the so-called “Victoriasicht”, the view at the pivot bearing "Königsstuhl", with 118 metres the highest mountain of Sassnitz.

A walk from the city centre passing the railway station to the harbour by the suspension bridge which was built in 2007 is recompensed with the wonderful view at the whole harbour. A dream holiday will expect you in one of the nicest corners of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
