Saalbach is situated in the big valley Saalach in the Alpes of Kitzbühel and forms a municipality with the neighbouring town Hinterglemm. A little bit more than 3,000 inhabitants are living in the small place which is well known particularly by winter sportsmen at home and abroad.

With more than 200 slope kilometres in all degrees of difficulty, 55 lifts and 10 km of cross-country skiing runs the skiing area around Sallbach-Hinterglemm belongs to the best ski places in the district of Salzburg. In summer Saalbach is a paradise for families and active vacationers.
