If you travel to Russia, you will visit a vast, giant country – But still it seems as if all the regions, rivers, lakes and people belong to one big family whose members have known each other for a long time. Mother Volga has been flowing through Russia’s vastness for ages, it invites you to cruises on comfortable ships. And Father Frost has his grip on parts of the north, forms bizarre ice sculptures, sometimes covers rivers and seas, creates strange snow worlds, whilst a sub tropic climate animates you to bathing at the Black Sea.

Perhaps you will be invited to a glass of vodka in Moscow, St. Petersburg or in the cities of the so-called Golden Ring around the capital. Listen to the stories of the tsars and tsarinas, have a drink of small water, which translated means vodka, and do you feel how you are becoming a part of this big family - And how much warmth Russia has to give - Even in the north - Even on cold days.

A few cities with stories to tell...
Many Russia travelers are drawn to Moscow first, to the capital of this giant country. The Moscow Kremlin, the huge GUM department store, the Red Square are all world famous. Moscow will tell you about the grand dukes like Ivan the Third, about communist rulers, famous authors and impressive plays in the Bolschoi theater. St. Petersburg can also tell you just as interesting stories, reports on the places along the Tran Siberian Railway or on the ancient cities of the Golden Ring surrounding Moscow, of which many have not changed since many centuries. 

And also Jakutsk in Siberia knows quite a few tales. The city will show you life between ice cold winter nights (up to -42 degrees Celsius) and hot summers (sometimes up to 38 degrees Celsius). Siberia is not always snow white! This is why a cozy vacation apartment in Jakutsk is not only the right place for friends of cold winter landscapes. The Russian weekend and vacation houses are called datschas. You will like them for sure.
