So Many Things To See In The Vienna Region of Austria

We have all heard about the famous castles, churches and museums in the Vienna region of Austria.  But there are many other attractions in and around Vienna that, even though they are lesser known to vacationers, are steeped in history and tradition.

The Austrian National Library’s collection contains about six million items.  The oldest book in the library is a fifteenth century manuscript of the Holy Gospels with scenes depicting the four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).

The Austrians celebrate on Sundays and many Catholic holidays with performances by the Court Musicians at the Chapel of the Imperial Palace located in the Vienna region of Austria.  The Court Musicians are made up of member from the Vienna Boys Choir and the Vienna State Opera.

Guided tours of Parliament, when not in official use, are offered in both English and German. And the "Haus des Meeres" Aquarium Zoo features an incredible rainforest glasshouse, reptiles and aquariums all housed in a leftover second world war air raid shelter.
