The city of Rio de Janeiro is a destination for many sun-starved vacationers, friends of water sports and surfers. But millions of visitors also stream into Brazil’s second largest city during the Carnival season to enjoy the wild joyousness and marvel at the colorful costumes. 

If you come to Rio de Janeiro during this time, however, you should book your hotel or motel early, otherwise it will be very difficult to find appropriate accommodations during the Carnival season. 
During a vacation in Brazil, a visit to this lively city is a definite must. The Copacabana, the Sugar Loaf Mountain or Corcovado are just a few sights which are popular centers of attraction for tourists.

Rio de Janeiro is an interesting city worth seeing – but it is also one of the most dangerous Brazilian cities with a high crime rate. For this reason, it is not recommended to do sightseeing tours on your own. Numerous travel businesses offer organized tours, however, so that you can still visit the many sights of the city. 

 Rio de Janeiro likes to celebrate and its nightlife offers you quite a few opportunities for celebrating. Many clubs, restaurants and street cafes make sure of evening amusement.
