Drenthe - Land of channels and meadows
The province of Drenthe is located in the northeast of Holland and borders on Lower Saxony, amongst others. Like most Dutch regions, Drenthe is a very flat plain, characterised by wide, marshy landscapes in the eastern area and moorland in the west.
A widely ramified waterway network connects the navigable, artificial canals with smaller natural waterways and is the home of a wide variety of interesting animals and plants.
Tourists can best explore Drenthe by bike, by boat or on foot. The beautiful meadow and field landscapes with their sparkling canals, small villages or the charming towns Emmen and Assen invite the guest to stay and relax.
