Prague, Prague Region

Prague is more than a domicile – it is a synonym for music and the middle ages, Kafka and  comrades, beer and knedliky. Many roads lead the poetic center of this Czech city, on which you can follow in Mozart’s footsteps or try to find out the beer brewers’ well protected recipes.

But no matter where you start – a bit of sentimentality and plaintiveness will escort you while you meander through the old town past the Golden Alleyway or along the famous Wenzel Street, in which the horse market used to take place. The picturesque alleyway, also often called the Gold maker Alley, goes back to an old myth in which the alchemists apparently made gold here.

Best Western Hotel Meteor Plaza

Hybernska Street 6, CZ-11000 Prague

First references to this hotel come from the year 1307. Unfortunately, the older informations have not been saved, because of fire. This house was called „White Lion” and was known as a retreat for the travelers, who came to The Old City in the late evenings hours without the possibility to enter the city through the City Gate (in the nowadays called The Powder Gate). This Gate used to be closed every day at dusk.

In the wine tavern U Bindru, in the House of the Blue Star (number 25) on the Old Town Ring, you can experience liquid history. Wine has been served at this gastronomic place since the 15th century.

The U Vejvodu beer cellar in the Italska /Husova Street is a real insider tip. Today, while enjoying a Pilsner, you will still hear the story of the ghost of the pretty cord maker who put a set of horns on her husband. IS your relationship a bit strained? Allegedly all pair problems will be solved by touching her photo.

The Prosek quarter, where you can spend an excellent night in the 4 star Duo Hotel, is a good starting point for exploring Prague. A bus stops right in front of the hotel which will take you to the Metro which will take you to the city center in a flash. Dreamy souls, on the other hand, will enjoy long walks along the Vltava River with a view of the Prague castle and the Karl’s Bridge.
