Philadelphia – a town full of history

The million-metropolis Philadelphia is located in the southeast of the US federal state Pennsylvania. Hardly anybody knows that Philadelphia was a national capital before Washington D.C. In the past time 1790 to 1800 the continental congress has hold a meeting at that place.

At that the American declaration of independence was announced in this city on the 4th of July, 1776 and the constitution was decided on the 17th of July, 1787. In a holiday flat, a motel or a hotel in Philadelphia you spend the nights as it were in a historically significant if not even in a historical town. The visitor can convince himself in the „Independence National Historical Park“.

There are actually several historical buildings which act on the whole as a memorial. All over the terrain the visitor also can find different exhibitions which reports of the time of the independence attempts.

While talking a walk across the "Italian Market" which is located in the "9th Street" many visitors are crazy about it. 125 years ago the Italian immigrants started with the sales of their goods. Since then the market has promoted up to the worldwide biggest open-air-market of its kind.

The visitors of Philadelphia are changing on the traces of many world-famous feature highlights as for example Rocky, Philadelphia (film) or Unbreakable. Maybe you can recognise your hotel, motel or your holiday flat in one of those films.
