Park City, Utah – not only a winter paradise

Park city is a relatively small town in the US federal state Utah with 7,000-something inhabitants. It is situated few kilometres easterly of the Olympic town Salt Lake City, immediately at the „Jordanelle State Park“. In 1870 Park City was fmored as a mining town because there, golden-, lead- and silveroccurences were discovered which led to a rank explosion of the number of inhabitants.

Finally the emulous "mates" hit the ground-water table which gave rise to a flooding of the mining plant and therewith to the end of the gold fever. Today Park City has become a pleasant holiday resort. There are numerous holiday apartments, motels, hotels, restaurants and bars. Not least the region encloses of course also three big ski-regions.

At these it is about the „Park City Resort“, "Deer Valley" and „The Canyons“. While the Winter Olympics 2002 in Salt Lake City, the slalom and giant slalom as well as the snowboard competitions were hold in the ski-resort Park City what probably speaks for the quality of this winter area.

If you would like to explore Park City starting from your hotel, summer cottage, motel or the holiday flat, you will find a lot of possibilities. Of course, worthwhile, is a visit to close Salt Lake City. However, there are also many other possibilities for making an excursion, as for example the city Provo at Utah Lake.
