Oxford, England – a visit of the old university town is always worthwile

Oxford is a nice university town in England. It is situated at the river of the Thames which is located only 60 miles south-eastern to the capital of the country London. The history of Oxford decreases till the 8th century. The visitors of a holiday apartment or a hotel of this town sleep on a historical ground which holds ready some surprises for them.

Oxford became famous by its „University of Oxford“. This has as well as the ground on which it is located, an extremely long and proud tradition. The first recordings about these educational institutions are found in the time of the 12th century. It is abundantly clear that many tourist attractions are also connected with this university.

Particularly nameable is the „Pitt Rivers Museum“, the "Bodleian Library" and the „Ashmolean Museum“. If you like to have a little bit variety to the many cultural influences it is advisable to pay a visit to the botanical garden or one of the numerous parks of Oxford.

Another possibility of relaxation would be during a boat trip on the water of the Thames which is mainly likeable in summer. If you favourably choose your holiday apartment, your flat or your hotel in Oxford with a little luck you even catch a look at the Christian Church Cathedral and Tom Tower. Together they offer a beautiful panorama.
