Oldenburg – A pearl between tinkering and curly kale

Tradition is capitalised in Oldenburg. Tinkering and curly kale belong to country and people, just as the Low German. To limit the cosmopolitan and hospitable inhabitants of Oldenburg, nevertheless, to their traditions, would be fatal; this shows, for example, that the town was chosen to the „Town of the Science 2009“.

A flat, a holiday apartment or a hotel in Oldenburg offers a holiday which is affected by change and will vanish, like a blast of wind, which is coming from the sea. An excursion to the Dammer Berge, to discover fish and birds at the dam "Thülsfelder Talsperre", the moor areas near Vechte – this offers nature and rest of the finest.

A wandering through the Hasetal in the Müsterland of Oldenburg is an experience; also a bicycle tour through the 306-kilometre-long pit stop route, a cycle track which leads from Neustadt am Rübenberge through Oldenburg to Wilhelmshaven.

A cosy pension, a comfortable summer cottage or a luxurious hotel – the overnight stay possibilities are varied, and offer vacation for everybody. Of course a sightseeing tour may not be absent through the city of Oldenburg.

You should visit the State museum of nature and human and as well the other museums of the town like the churches and other buildings - particularly the bell tower "Lappan", the landmark of the town. Vacation in Oldenburg connects tradition with nature and culture – and remains unforgotten.
