More than only a „Schroth“ cure - Oberstaufen

The magnificent village Oberstaufen is located in the Upper part of the Allgäu called "Oberallgäu". The history of the village can be traced back until 868 A. D. At that time the village was for the first time supported by documents. Relatively late (1949) the popular holiday destination has become a destination due to its „Schroth“ cure. With the award of the rating „resort for the Schroth cure“ the village Oberstaufen has officially been awarded to be the only resort of this type in Germany. Later the village was accepted to be a health resort with a healthy climate.

The village of Oberstaufen has multifaceted offers regard the culture. Concerts are offered here. They are regularky staged at the assembly rooms of the health resort Oberstaufen. Theatre plays are staged both at the assembly rooms of the health resort and at the "Thaler Festsaal".

 

The interested visitor finds many museums like:
 
· The museum of local history „Beim Strumpfar“
· The farm museum called „S‘Huimatle“ (the home country) and 
· The show cheese dairy with a cheese school

A vast summer and winter sports activity program awaits the guest here. Thus for example you can find:
- The fun bath called „Aquaria“
- The open-air bath Thalkirchdorf
- The "Imbergbahn" directly leads to the Imberg ridge. Or

- the 12 tennis courts under the sun, above them are 6 in Oberstaufen, 4 in Thakirchdorf and 2 are located at Steibis.

Curling, ice hockey, hiking with snow shoes and skiing is offered here during the winter months. The outstanding dish of this region has to be mentioned separately. Here you can really enjoy your holiday.
