Oakland – city at the bay of San Francisco

The metropolis of Oakland, in the US county of California, is directly located at the Eastern shore of San Francisco. It has about 400,000 inhabitants and extends to an area of approximately 200 square kilometers. Everyone who decides for a apartment or a hotel in Oakland enjoys even several advantages. The city is a major hub for travelling by train, by air or with a ship.

From Oakland International Aiport many cheap air carriers take off for the rest of the United States. From Oakland it is very easy to reach San Francico via the 1936 initiated two level Bay Bridge by car. This city at the Pacific Ocean shoud be senn. Naturally the mostly and well known structure is the red painted Golden Gate Bridge. It extents for a length of 2,8 kilometer and has a width of 25 meters.

 

A memory shot in front of this world famous construction of iron which was constructed by Joseph B. Strauss mustn't be absent in any foto album. A further sight of this city, whose name was derived from the Holy Franciscus, is the skyscraper „Transamerica Pyramid“.

In the skyline of San Francisco this building (which is unfortunately not accessible for tourists) is highly visible. Everyone who decides for a hotel, a motel and a apartment in Oakland, has a vast array of possibilities for an individual composition of the most beautiful days of the year.
