Nova Scotia - New Scotland –is a Canadian province. It lies in front of the mainland in the Atlantic and consists of the large Nova Scotia peninsula and the connected Cape Breton archipelago. 

The province capital is Halifax. The large Halifax Metro Region with its incorporated towns stretches along the coast over hundreds of kilometers and is a special attraction with its harbors, many landmarks, international companies and a very diverse tourist infrastructure, in which about 40% of Nova Scotia’s population lives. 

The real beauty of this province lies in its vastness, its peace and quiet and its constant closeness to the ocean. Thousands of visitors are attracted to the unbelievable nature here each year which explodes into a flush of color especially during the Indian Summer in September / October. 

The 7600 kilometer long coast with sand beaches, cliffs, coves and many tiny villages are the real points of interest in Nova Scotia. In the south, the Cabot Trail, one of the most beautiful coastal streets, stretches for 300 kilometers around Cape Breton. 

Vacationers will find nice bed & breakfast hotels, pensions and vacation homes all over the province.
