Northern Thuringia – Located in the true heart of Germany

Who does not know the legendary Barbarossa ? The holiday region of Northern Thuringia (Nordthüringen) has many offers for everyone due to being delightful in respect of its history and landscape. So the „Kyffhäuser“ should be mentioned which is located above the city of „Bad Frankenhausen“. The castle „Reichsburg“ and the Barbarossa memorial are well worth a visit anytime.
   
The Kyffhäuser mountain is one of the scenery regions of Northern Thuringia, furthermore the „Eichsfeld“ , the „Goldene Aue“ and the „Vorharz“ area have to be mentioned. Castles, rivers and palaces line the magnificent peaceful landscape.

The heart of Germany can be found not far away from the city of Mühlhausen at the river Unstrut, which is deeply enrooted also due to the peasant´s war, as well as nearly also to Bad Frankenhausen with its mighty and impressing panorma painting. A small museum called „Opfermoor“ has been constructed here. All who are interested in history should unconditionally visit it.
