The province of North Holland is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations of the Netherlands. Tulips, cheese and windmills – no other part of the small kingdom combines these famous attributes of the Netherlands as well as this region. In the spring, the landscape is virtually covered by a carpet of blossoms.

Colourful tulip fields extend to the horizon, bright, yellow daffodils sway in the sea wind and the otherwise inconsiderable hyacinths diffuse an intensive fragrance.  Pretty farmhouses and well-preserved windmills appear like scattered toys. Waterways and bike paths run through the flat landscape. Near the North Sea, the land, which mostly lies below sea level, is protected by dunes.

Wide, white sandy beaches offer a great time in the water and manifold water sports possibilities. Directly in front of the dunes and in the pretty towns, numerous holiday estates with an excellent infrastructure can be found. Those wanting to rent a holiday home or holiday flat here can choose between different sizes and furnishing.

In the small towns along the coast and in the hinterland, you will easily find a comfortable and classy hotel, for example in the artists’ town Bergen.

There are many destinations for excursions, for example the famous cheese market in Alkmaar, the province’s capital Haarlem, Den Helder with its military past, the island of Texel as well as different museums, which attest to North Holland’s eventful history.
