New Hampshire is situated right in the core of New England. The name already tells, this American state has been under a strong British and Irish influence ever since the settlement began.

Therefore, you shouldn´t be surprised about various names of places like Manchester or Bristol which actually already exist right on the other side of the ocean. In addition, there are quite a view campsites and hotels which are being carried on in a rather British-Irish manner. Countless museums and historical places will give you a picture of American history. Very recommendable amongst other things are the Canterbury Shaker Village (the village of the world famous Shaker sect), the Robert Frost Farm or the ancient site of Augustus Saint Gaudens.

Other sites of general cultural interest are top museums in Manchester and Concord. An absolute must for art lovers is the Currier Gallery of Art. There you´ll encounter an outstanding collection of American arts. 

The Museum of New Hampshire in Concord features very rare exhibits from the field of fine arts. The principle magnet of tourism, however, is the large woodland of the White Mountain National Forest and the area around Lake Winnipesaukee. Thanks to some very strict environment protection laws in the state of New Hampshire you can experience a unique nature. Don´t miss out on visiting the Old Fort Number 4 in Charlestown which is supposed to be the reconstruction of a fort from the 18th century.

If there should be some time left at the end of your vacation, just enjoy the relaxing part of your stay in one of the hotels.
