You can experience the maritime flair especially good during a stroll at the city harbour of Waren (Müritz). Market squares and twisting narrow streets of the ancient town with their lovely and well-preserved half-timbering houses emphasize the Mecklenburger Seenplatte. Harbour complexes like painted with brushed lines at Plau am See, Waren (Müritz), Röbel/Müritz, Neustrelitz or Fürstenberg/Havel invite for relaxation. Local traditional restaurants offer a cross-section of the cuisine of Mecklenburg. Harbour, sea and fishermen´s celebrations and the Müritz Sail event guarantee the lust for life and let the heart of the holidaymaker beat faster.
The well-preserved defence complex of the city of the four gates Neubrandenburg leaves a considerable impression with its attracttve Wiek houses as well as the Church of the Holy Marie which has been developed to be a concert church. The inexhaustible number of mills on the village of mills Woldegk, the castle island in Mirow and the lake Sea promenade in Krakow at the Lake are also fascinating. Nostalgic feelings are dispersed by the smell of fresh fish from the charcoal grill. Fish caught fresh from the smoke, bread from the stone oven, vegetables, fruits - the best taste can be found directly from the farmer or on the “green market”.Hotels are ranging from glamorous to cute and in small privately owned boarding houses there is always time for talking with the host.
