Manassas, Virginia – a historic community

Manassas is a small community in the north-east of the US federal state Virginia. Here in an area on ten square miles about 35,000 people are living. The town sprays aplenty charm and offers a lovely choice of flats, motels and hotels. Due to its naturalness and the shortness to the tourist attractions Washington D.C. and Arlington, it enjoys a snowballing popularity.

Here you are quasi outdoors in the country, but anyway you have the possibility to go for excursions to the conurbation of the „District of Columbia“. Around Manassas you will find many green areas in the form of golf clubs, parks and the „Manassas National Battlefield Park“.

Latter one is an about 5,000 hectare area where at the moment of the American civil war two important battles between the north states and south states have taken place. Landmark of the park area is "The Stone House". This building at the crossroad of "Lee Highway" and the "Manassas-Sudley Road", served both war parties as a hospital for the many wounded soldiers.

If you would like to explore the surrounding of Manassas extensively, you can set out for Washington D.C. and Arlington Country. There you can find famous buildings as the "White House", „Washington Monument“ or the infamous Pentagon. All that certainly is only a tiny part of what a visitor can experience in the surrounding of Manassas.
