Los Gigantes, Tenerife – Tenerife precipitates into the ocean

Los Gigantes is situated in the west of the wonderful Canary Island Tenerife. The city is a part of the municipality of Santiago del Teide. 11,000 people live here and primarily exist of the tourism of the sun island. Hence, it is hardly surprising that many of these friendly and open people have constructed holiday apartments in their houses.

Of course you can find numerous smaller and bigger pensions and hotels in this region. Some of it you can find even directly at the biggest place of interest of Los Gigantes, the breathtaking cliff lines. At some places these ledges fall up to 450 metres in the depth. If you have ever seen this spectacle of nature once in your life, you will enthuse about that over and over again.

To come closer to the rock face the best most beautiful alternative is a journey by an excursion boat along the cliffs. Many organizers offer a lot of different kinds to visit the rocks by the sea. You have the choice to rent an easy motorboat or to decide rather on a proud catamaran.

The best side-effect of such boat excursions at the Canary Islands is to watch the dolphins and long-finned pilot whales which often approach the boats. In the evening it recommends to visit one of the good restaurants of the region. Culinary spoilt is the best way of falling asleep in the holiday apartment, in the pension or alternatively the hotel in Los Gigantes.
