Holiday and vacation in the Lombardy - Italy

It shares the one or the other border with Switzerland, Lake Maggiore and the mountains of the Alps: Lombardy. It is a very rich region of Italy, maybe even the richest, and Milan, its capital, is not only captivating as a center for fashion and design. Modernity has given much to Lombardy, just as past times have.

The Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque eras have eternalized themselves here in magnificent and secular buildings. Enjoy fascinating mountains, culture, bathing lakes and traditional festivities. Lombardy is expecting you!

Not only Lake Maggiore draws aquatic sportsmen and bathers to Lombardy. Parts of Lake Lugano and Lake Garda as well as Lake Como also do their share. They all lie nestled into a charming landscape so that trips to the near vicinity of the lakes are a nice alternative, if you like diversity.

Rent a mountain bike and visit the beautiful old town of Varenna or Como City on Lake Como from where a cog railway can take you to Brunate. From here, the view of Lake Como is indescribably beautiful.

By the way, Lombardy is also an ideal vacation spot for skiers: for example in the Valchiavenna region.
