Holiday flat in Fanals, Lloret de Mar
Barrio Fanals, ES-17310 Lloret de Mar (Lloret de Mar, Fanals), phone.: +34(0)618-782 300, emailBarcelona, the second largest metropolis in Spain, is at just 60 Km. from Lloret de Mar. Barcelona is a city that must be visited! There is a train connection from Blanes (approximately 6 Km. away) and in the opposite direction (at approximately 30 Km.) is Girona, the capital of the province with the same name. There, above all, the old Jewish neighborhood invites you to pay a visit. But also the small boutiques, the cafes and the good restaurants add to the traditional Spanish charm.
Lloret de Mar is located on a very pretty bay. Here everyone finds what they are looking for. In the tourist season from June to September there is intense activity: - On the beach, in the countless bars and cafes and, especially at night, when the many night clubs open their doors. Besides, the place is full of young people, who do not permit boredom. On four beautiful sandy beaches and in five bays is possible to enjoy the clear water of Costa Brava. There are plenty of free time activities: from the ?Water World? Aquapark, to diving, sailing, surfing, water skiing, tennis, golf, the Casino and horseback riding, all wishes comes true. A typical Mediterranean walk along the beach with palm trees becomes a meeting place and a main point of the area. During the season there are bull fights in the Arena, which is centrically located. The traditional weekly market opens every Tuesday behind the Casino. There you can buy anything, from fresh fruit to underwear, shoes and even pans.
Off season, especially during the winter months, the place becomes completely quiet. And then it is possible to feel the original Spanish charm of this old fishing town. Since the night clubs are closed during these months, the hustle and bustle of the young people decreases considerably, and in their place are visitors who prefer a relaxed free time schedule. In Spring and Fall special tours are offered to the surroundings areas, especially to the country?s interior that has almost not been affected by tourism.
As far as tourism curiosities and tours, you should have a quick look at the following lines (that for sure will not include everything to be discovered) but maybe they will become an incentive to set off on a discovery trip and to get to know "the people and the country" a little better.
Tourist curiosities in Lloret de Mar:
Església Parroquial: Plaça de l'Església. Amidst the wineries and the night clubs is the Iglesia Parroquial from the 16th Century, with its beautiful Modern style tiled dome.
Casa de la Vila: Plaça de la Vila. The City Hall, an original building of Félix de Azúa, built at the end of the 19th Century. The Tourism Office is there too.
Sardana Monument: On the sandy trail there is a monument to the Sardana, a National dance from Cataluña.
The Castell: At the North end of the beach there is the characteristic monument of Lloret. Built in the 20th Century, now it is private property and can not be visited. But after passing the castle there is a beautiful and enchanted panoramic path along the sea.
Verdaguer Cultural Center: Passeig Jacint Verdaguer, Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Right along the sandy trail is the beautiful Villa with antique furniture and beautiful tiled floors, where often there are art exhibits. Free admission.
Cala Banys: Such a romantic place is hard to find in Lloret: On the hills of the little bay lay the terraces of the original day and night bar Cala Banys. There the gentle music mixes together with the sound of the waves.
Santa Cristina: In the south end of the place, situated above the little bay, is the hermitage that holds the same name. Right next to it is the Botanical Garden "Jardí Tropical Pinya de Rosa", that is worth a visit. A marvelous garden!
Nearby beaches: Cala Fenals, Boadella (nude beach) and Santa Cristina to the South. Canyelles, Morisca and Tortuga to the North.
