Lexington – Holiday on the suburb of Boston

Lexington, with about 30.000 habitants, is a suburb of Boston, in the U.S. State Massachusetts. The city is famous due to the “shot that went the whole world”. At the battle of Lexington and Concord, dated 19. April 1775, the first shot had been fired – the begin of the American War of Independence. The most popular photo motive is the “Minute Man-Statue”.

This statue, created by Henry Hudson Kitson, shows the famous Captain Parker, who shepherded the Lexington militia in the already mentioned battle of Lexington and Concord. If you decide to rent one of the roomy holiday flats, motel or elegant hotel in Lexington, Massachusetts, you spend the night not far away from Boston an also historical place.

In order to visit the metropolis Boston, the city for all historical interested people, you have to drive only 20 miles. The city is like a big museum, through which you should walk with open eyes.

Particularly helpful is the red paved “Freedom Trail”, which leads the visitor along a route of almost 4 km, passing places of the American independence movement.
