Leipzig’s vicinity is a magnificent land of castles, which persuades with many citadels and an unsurpassed bastion and heath landscape. The Saxon sociability is reflected in generous hotels. The Hochlitz Mulde valley reminds one of a sea plowed out of the earth. Waves, moved by life, confront visitors with inner stagnation.

The glowing red rock, which has been mined from the Rochlitzer mountain for over 1000 years, illuminates the many historical buildings nearby. It is also called “Saxon Marble” due to its distinctive marbling.
