Kosický – History between Hornád and the Carpathian Mountains

Kosický kraj is located in the South-Eastern part of Slovakia. If you want to enjoy a holiday in the untouched nature near to the Carpathian Mountains Layout are right at this region. Take a trip to Kosice – the economic center of East Slovakia. The St. Eliszabeth´s Cathedral, the State Theatre with the singing fountain, the East Slovakian Museum or the Slovakian Museum of Technics are only some examples of the of the innumerable sights of this city.

You will return full of new impressions and only a bit exhausted after such a tour in your boardinghouse. But also a tour to Gelnice (Göllnitz) is well worth the visit. Dip into the life of the medieval ages and visit the ruins of the castle. The mining museum and the magnificent town hall (build in the architectural style of the renaissance) also invite for a pause. 

You should unconditionally taste the culinary delicacies of Slovakia.

Pirogies, small dumplings made of soft sheep´s cheese and „Kendlik“ are local specialties which many people couldn´t imagine – but taste it and you will appreciate it.
