Copenhagen, Denmark Zealand

Nyhaven - KopenhagenCopenhagen, the Danish capital, is sometimes called "the Athens of the North". This refers to its incredible charming atmosphere and the beautiful countryside all over the place. Witness a metropolis in a state of transition as it changes from an old fashioned, well-fortified town to an industrial northern European metropolis, a melting pot on the same lines as it happens to be in the United States.

Hotels in Copenhagen are highly recommendable in terms of service, quality and friendliness. The Copenhagener skyline is distinguished by church steeples all over the town.

Copenhagen hotels an holiday flats

Copenhagen offers plenty of good dining options, countless good restaurants and take-aways as well as first class ice cream palours which offer the legendary Danish ice cream. As Denmark´s capital is a 24 hour party place, you should not underestimate the prices on a night out. If you are a rather beachy tourist then you are supposed to have antifreeze in your veins at most time of the year. There is a beautiful shoreline in southern part of the city and plenty of swimming pools all over the town.

Nevertheless, we warmly recommend the Amager Strandpark, a beautiful seaside with a fantastic view. One of Copenhagen?s benefits for cyclists is the incredibly popular cycling scene and some excellent cycling lanes and paths in town. As the city is as green as no other metropolis, it´s perfect to explore the place by foot even though it might take a while. Copenhagen´s botanic garden is meant to be the green lung of the north. Don´t miss the opportunity to visit the place which is perfect for a long stroll with the family.

Copenhagen is also a very culturally enriching place. Throughout the year, there are festivals like the Night Film Festival in March or the Copenhagener carnival. Very recommendable are the beach bonfires which are lit in the whole country on Midsummer Eve.
However, there is so much to do in Copenhagen and to get the latest information about the city´s activities the time you are there, just ask the friendly staff in your Copenhagener hotel.
