
Blanes: A picturesque fishing harbor and the Botanical Garden "Jardí Botánic Mar i Murtra" are also worth a visit.
Tossa de Mar: A beautiful place with an old Medieval homestead that still remains intact. The fortress old walls and towers offer a panoramic scene.
Sant Pere Pescador: beside the remains of an old castle and of a Baroque church, a few kilometers East of the downtown, there is a beach, that due to the good winds has become a meeting place for windsurf lovers.
L´Escala: One of the biggest fishing harbors in the country. The Greek-Roman Past tour is worth a visit as well. You can see the remains of the Empúries city, more than two thousand five hundred years old, before reaching the gates. The famous beaches (for example: Cala Montgo, Platja de Riells) are also worth a visit.
Torroella de Montgrí: The top of the Santa Catarina Hill and the Castle of Montgrí can be seen from far away. The castle on top of the "grey hill" was built in 1294.

Banyoles: Located on the shores of the great continental lake of Catalonia is a close place to rest, which is loved by the people of Girona.
Besalú: A medieval bridge is the characteristic monument of Besalú. In fact, the old downtown is a recommended place to visit.
Castellfollit de la Roca: Behind Besalú starts the La Garrotxa volcanic area, whose consequences are clearly visible.
Sant Pau: Amidst the volcanic area there is a little medieval town with a beautiful gated square.
Sierra del Montseny: National Park that deserves to be visited.
