Baden State Museum in KarlsruheThe city of Karlsruhe with its 280,000 inhabitants is located in the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg in the Upper-Rhenish lowlands.
In 1715, Margrave Karl Wilhelm von Baden-Durlach had his new residence built here in the middle of his favourite forest. He also determined that every street of the city should lead to the castle like the shape of a fan; today, it is 32 of them.

Every year, more and more tourists book their holidays in holiday flats, holiday homes and hotels in Karlsruhe. The inhabitants of the city are very friendly and cordial; the perfect atmosphere for relaxation and wellbeing.

The centrepiece of the city is the castle, which today houses the Baden State Museum, surrounded by the copious castle garden which is laid out in the English style. South of the castle, you will get to the market place; apart from numerous classical buildings, the 6.50 metres high sandstone pyramid, the city’s landmark, will impress visitors. In the grave, the founder of the city found his last resting place.

From your holiday home or hotel, you will get to Kaiserstraße in a few minutes, which is at the same time a pedestrian precinct and main shopping street of Karlsruhe. The Rhine port, which was taken into operation in 1901, has belonged to the most important inland ports until today.

Walks and cycling tours along the River Rhine are popular activities of the locals and their guests.
On the Rhine terraces, you can not only stroll and feast in an excellent way but also feel a touch of hiking when the ships pass by.
