Kappeln – The wonderful north

If you set off on vacation to get to know the far north of Germany, in Kappeln you will meet a holiday paradise. The town in Schleswig – Holstein is a fishing village with a small harbour, situated idyllic at the river Schlei, near its estuary into the Baltic Sea. Friends of medical TV-series will know the region probably rather as "Deekelsen", the popular series „The country doctor“ originates from here, nevertheless.

Kappeln offers its guests an amount of enterprises and holiday possibilities about which you can already find out at the hotel, or the pension. However, many vacationers are just searching for a recreative calmness in a mild climate and clean air, while the anglers among them almost wax lyrical about the districts which are rich in fish.

The area is a true holiday paradise for families with children. Having a bath on the beach, walks passing through undulant fields or a bicycle tour overland are actions which inspire every child. You can rent bicycles nearly everywhere in the region, partly these are already available at the holiday apartment, or in the summer cottage.

If you like to take to the water, a journey by the paddle-steamer at the river Schlei should absolutely be undertaken. Several holiday journeys are offered as well. The inhabitants of Kappeln love their home country – and the guests feel it. Thus it will be easy to feel fine here straightaway.
