The South of Japan: Where Culture meets Nature

Many tourists love the South of Japan, with the two main islands Shikoku and Kyushu, for its unique nature and colourful culture. The subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters allows seaside vacation at the coast and at some lakes as well as multiple kinds of agriculture. The most cultivated products are Soya, tobacco, tea and, of course, rice.

The island of Kyushu is first of all known as industrial site, but also as place for swimming. In addition to that you can find leftovers of very old settlements there. People guess that the origin of the famous Japanese culture is to be found on Kyushu. Also the cities, like Fukuoka, Nagasaki or Kagishima are more than worth to be seen.

Shikoku is smaller than Kyushu and more dominated by agriculture. The heartland, with up to 2.000 meter high mountains and lovely lakes, is a popular hiking and tourist area for stressed inhabitants of Tokyo, Osaka or other Japanese metropolis.

They often spend all of their vacation days there. On the island you find several hotels, boarding-houses and motels that offer an excellent service to the guests.
