Istanbul – The metropolis on two continents

The largest city of Turkey ranges over the two sides of the Bosporus und this is the only city of the world which is simultaneously located on two continents. Today Istanbul known is being one of the metropolises of the world and thus is a city with an unbelievable history ranging into foregone eras. 

The city called Constantinople in former times is one of the most sought-after destinations for a city trip which one can easily discover due to the number of hotels in Istanbul.

Whereas some head to the lively city for a short trip others use it to explore the magnificent Marmara region from here. Furthermore a weekend stay in an apartment in Istanbul can simultaneousely be combined with an extensive shopping tour.

On the other hand spacious holiday houses in Istanbul are used especially gladly by families, eventually the Sea of Marmara with its magnificent beaches is located a stone´s throw away.

But not only tourists from all over the world flow to this lively city, a trip there is for many Turkish an absolute “must-do”. At last one is proud about the enduring history of the city and its sights. An especially fascinating view is offered by the so called “Blue Mosque”, but the Topkapi Palace and the Galata Tower – which offers a magnificent view over the ancient city from a height of nearly 62 m – impress the visitors until now.
