Dugi-Otok, Dalmatia – gorgeous holiday pleasure

The island Dugi-Otok is situated in front of Dalmatia on the southern coast of Croatia. On the west coast it is affected by an inaccessible steep coast. In the east, the mainland turned side, most locals have settled. Here you can find many of the hotels, pensions, summer cottages and holiday apartments which promise a pleasant stay to the visitor.

Most suitable is the arrival of the island by ferry, besides, the holiday domicile can be seen thus sometimes from a different angle. Dugi-Otok is suitable for rest searching people. Only two places on the island are touristy. Anyhow boredom still does not arise here. In the northwest of the island you will find Bozava.

There, directly in the harbour you find a diving base where you can get the necessary equipment for a dive. The flora and fauna of the Adriatic Sea should not be underestimated. On nearby diving places colourful steep coasts can be admired or caves and grottos can be explored. If you feel better ashore you can also expand into caves from there.

Not less interesting is the nature reserve in the southern part of the island or a detour to the national park Kornaten which consist of several small islands and reefs. In the evening after you nestled at the hotel, the pension, in the summer cottage or the holiday apartment, it is possible without a lot of effort to plan the next day diverse and, nevertheless, calmly.
