The Capital region denominates the area around Icelands capital city Reykjavik. The formerly unimportant village at the “reek bay” is today with more than 100,000 inhabitants considered as the most northern capital city of the world. Who books a hotel in Reykjavik will be enthusiastic about the wide range of cultural opportunities. A multitude of museums and art galleries invite for visiting them. In the pretty stores of the ancient city fashion, handcraft and culinary delights change hands. The picture of the ancient city centre of reykjavik is minted by corrugated iron cased timber houses, which extend on both shores of the lake Tjörnin.

The Hallgrims church is considered as being one of the sights of Iceland. A lift leads to the 75 m high tower of the modern Lord´s house and allows a magnificent view on hotels and sights of the Capital region. The open-air museum in the city district Arbaer is unique in Iceland.
