Ho Chi Minh City – A cordially welcome to Viet Nam

During the last years Viet Nam as a destination country has become more and more important.
Ho Chi Minh City is the largest and one of the most famous cities of the country, commonly more known with its old denomination - Saigon.
The city is located at the banks of the Saigon river, you will reach the Mekong delta to the Southern direction. The tropical climate is prevailing in Ho Chi Minh City, the temperatures even are not lower than 20 degrees centigrade even in the coldest month - January. But Saigon has reacted on the ever increasing number of tourists and in most cases the hotel or boarding house are equipped with an air condition. The best way to explore the city from your accommodation is the use of a rented car including a driver. This is especially recommended due to the fact that foreign driving licences are not accepted here and the traffic conditions are an adventure itself.

 

Anyway a city tour with a typical bicycle rikshaw is an adventure itself which you should not miss.  The drivers who are especially trained for such tours mostly speak English in a good way and know to tell many facts about the history of  their home country.

Anyone who does not stay at a hotel but at a holiday flat respectively a holiday home will find the numerous cookshops on the walks being an extremely cheap opportunity to eat our buys fresh food on the market.
