Havana – home of Rum and cigars

Havana is the capital city of Cuba and for the economy as well as the economy the most important metropolis of the island. Havanna is the home of the cigars of the same name and the typical Cuban Havanna Rum.

Even during commencing the approach to the your holiday domicile you you will perceive that Cuba is not offering the well-known Spanish cuisine and other treats only. The Capitol where the seat of the government of the island is, protrudes impressively out of the picturesque ancient town. Havana offers numerous baroque sights and a long history. Anyone who reserves a holiday in a hotel or a holiday apartment, should not get around without an exploration of the city and should admire nearly all special buildings- especially the neo-classic buildings – of the historic city called „Old Havana and its fortifications“.

Havana has the oldest history of the island. Already since the year of 1519 the city develops to an important location in matters of economy and industry. This is mainly caused by the unique location of the harbour.

Anyone who is holidaying in Havana and starts a day excursion from his boarding house or his holiday apartment should not get around without the Plaza de la Revolucion – Square of the Revolution. Here is also the largest cemetery of Latin America as well as a 142 metres high obelisk with a statue of the poet and patriot Jose Martis.

A visit of one of the many cigar manufacturies is well worth a visit where you can watch the manufacturing of hand-rolled cigars or the visit of a brandy shop where you can see how the genuine Havana Rum is distilled. Havana is just the home of cigars and Rum.
