The heart of the Canary Islands beats between Tenerife and Fuerteventura in Grand Canary. Each year, several million tourists find a fully developed infrastructure here which guarantees a flawless beach vacation.

Especially in the south in the towns of Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés and San Augustín you will find moderately priced hotels, whose white beaches, child care programs and discos offer the ambience for a carefree and intensive vacation away from German everyday stress.

In case you do become bored, a trip outside of this small world in itself can be organized, either with a rental car or by public transit bus. 

If you miss big city stress, visit the capital of the island, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with a population of 378,000. Other than that, a sunset in the Canary fishing village of Puerto de Mogan is a picture worthy of a postcard.  

Near Maspalomas you will find Banana Park in which you can see a classic Canary finca. If you have always wanted to try the life of a Spanish squire for a time, you should check out the fincas that are also offered for rent as accommodations.  The disadvantage as opposed to a hotel room is the long way to the beach, as the hotels are usually in the direct vicinity of the beach.
