The island of Gozo – The "Green island"

The island Gozo is especially very popular amongst those who are fond of beach holiday. However Gozo is an even more idyllic place than the neighbouring island Malta. Hectic large cities can not be found on Gozo, instead idyllic tiny mountain villages can be found. Here you can spend a relaxed holiday remote from the mass tourism; a hotel is surely found fest due to the large selection. The picture of the island is minted by mighty Table Mountains, canyons and numerous cultivated areas. Entirely typical are the many stone walls which are located everywhere on the island. Agriculture plays an important part on the island of Gozo – numerous fruitful greenery can be found here. Gozo is denominated as the “green island” not without reason.

The arguably most beautiful beach of the island is Ramla Bay; a beach with red sand near the Northern Coastline. Everyone who loves water sports will find also perfect conditions, especially diving is an experience of the extraordinary type here.

Also tourists who are interested in culture get experiences worth the money. The temple site of Ggantija has to be accented especially. This cult site of the New Stone Age is very well-preserved.

One of the sights of the island is the Fungus Rock, an impressive rock formation which directly rises from the Sea. You should not miss a day trip to the neighbouring island Malta, you can reach it in a comfortable way using the Comino channel.
